The science and art of physical therapy and movement
Carmel Valley Physical Therapy has responded to the growing need for integrated rehabilitation in San Diego, sought mostly by patients who have been through the traditional types of Physical Therapy programs and who seek to utilize a whole body approach in their rehab because of recurring injuries. With today's limited medical insurance reimbursement, the traditional model of Physical Therapy does not always fully address the long-term goals of patients and does not necessarily ensure that they will leave with the tools needed for long-term success and health. The goal of our program is not only to diminish our patient's pain, but also to restore function.
The therapists at Carmel Valley Physical Therapy integrate the science of physical therapy with the art of movement; combining manual therapy with Pilates principles. We achieve superior results by focusing on improving quality of movement to restore proper biomechanics to all of the joints of the body.
Our therapists spend a minimum of 45 minutes one-on-one time with each patient during every treatment session - an uncommon practice in today's managed care environment, but essential in order to deliver our unique form of integrated whole body treatment.
We achieve excellent results for all conditions including:
- Work related injuries - Sports specific rehabilitation - Programs for recovery from total joint replacement - Osteoporosis and osteopenia - Women's heath
- Post -mastectomy
- Post- hysterectomy
- Pre-natal
- Postpartum recovery
- Back and neck pain - Chronic pain/fibromyalgia - Pre and Post-surgical - Spinal injuries - Orthopedic issues in the extremities - Headaches
...and more!
Patients referred for Physical Therapy will receive a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan, which will then be forwarded to the referring physician within 48 hours of referral. All of our treatments are based on full participation from the patient. Our therapists facilitate recovery from an ailment or injury with the intent of empowering our patients in the healing process to help ensure long-term results. Treatment success is grounded in the specialized attention our patients receive.
Physical therapy begins with hands-on treatment to restore normal joint and tissue mobility, pain relief and anti-inflammatory modalities combined with patient education and facilitation of postural improvements. All of our patients receive instruction in strengthening the core muscles through Pilates exercise
